Student filing for K-1

Hi Everyone,

I have been a student for the past couple of years and will be a student for a few more. I graduated with my bachelors in 2010, then went to Japan for two years on a Japanese government scholarship, and have now just recently returned to the States with the intent of applying to and attending graduate school. My girlfriend is a Japanese national, we have been together for over three years, and we are considering getting married. I would like to bring her here on a k-1 visa, however, I have some concerns.

1. Due to my status as a student, I have had no income for a number of years now. Therefore, I am concerned about what I should do when asked to provide tax information as I really don't have anything to show. If I include a letter explaining the conditions surrounding my lack of income will that suffice?

2. I know that due to having no income, I will require co-sponsors. I have two family members lined up who meet the income requirements and are willing to act as co-sponsors. Will having two co-sponsors with respectable careers and sufficient income be enough to offset the fact that I have no taxes or income for the past couple of years?

if i understand it correctly you only can only have 1 co sponsor for the petitioner..

If you have a co-sponsor you will be fine. You can only have ONE.

I am in the same boat, I graduate in 3 months (but mine is with a bachelors) then in a year for Law school
