Hi all,

We received our interview letter Jan 30. The letter said the NVC had forwarded our case on to the embassy. However, I called the NVC today (Feb 6) to confirm if the embassy had received our case yet. To my surprise, they said they had not mailed it yet and still had it. Does anyone have any experience with this? Our interview is a ways off (Mar 27), so I'm thinking maybe they are just taking their time to mail it. But I think it's kind of strange that they said in the letter it had been forwarded, when it has not.

The reason I'm concerned is because I'm hoping to rescheduled our interview for earlier, but the embassy won't talk to me until they have the case. Is there any way to get the NVC to get this thing in the mail?

Thanks for any help.

I read somewhere that persons working for NVC and or USCIS are not 100% perfect. They have bad days and good days. They get sick. Have family problems, etc. So I would just sit tight and let the package arrive at the local embassy and then contact them but experiece shows that the likelihood of getting the interview date moved closer is wishful thinking and vice versa is true also. Don't ask for an extension either. Go to the interview and hope for the best. Good luck to you. Many blessings.

Seems to be the standard response - the NVC says they have sent it - but the embassy says they haven't got it yet. I was told the same thing, as have many other people. It's nothing to worry about. Your case will make it before your interview.

Now about rescheduling - good luck with that. You will have to have a good reason (well, more accurately - what the consulate thinks is a good reason). They are hit and miss at Sydney as to moving interviews up - but by all means give it a shot! Don't know unless you try!!
