Hi everyone,

My fiancee and I are in the middle of the K-1 process. We just learned that our case has been forwarded to the US embassy in Paris. I have already sent my fiancee an I-134 affidavit of support with a letter from my employer, bank statements, etc. I have read on this forum somewhere that they ask for tax returns in the Paris embassy, so I'm going to send her copies of the last three years returns + W-2 forms. Here's my question, is there a requirement that the tax returns be physically signed? I have pdf copies of my tax returns as prepared by a tax software that I used. However, given that I e-filed my returns, they do not show my signature on them. Would such copies be acceptable if corroborated with respective W2 forms?

Thanks,

Loulou

Thanks for the reply JJ. Unfortunately, the software I used (not turbotax) does not indicate that. I'm going to order IRS transcripts as additional evidence.

Tax transcripts, provided by IRS for free (you can request them at the IRS site and will show in the mail within a few days) could be a good alternative and it would be a "stronger" document.

Don't know about Paris, but in Warsaw it is also a requirement and they didn't looked at mine
