Affidavit of support employer letter

Hello all,

We are currently gathering all the necessary documents for Packet 3.

My fiance requested a letter from his employer to be included in our Affidavit of support, and was told that a letter could not be supplied as it was not for work related purposes.

Is there any alternative for this?

Can we provide other evidence in leiu of?

My fiance has the W2s and tax transcripts for the last few years.

He has permanent employment, and has been employed for most of his working years by the same employer.

I would check again with the HR Department. This is not an uncommon request. Many people ask for proof of emplyment for buying homes and other things. So they SHOULD be willing to provide this document to you without too much effort. Especially since he, the employee, is requesting it. It isn't too much their business why he needs it. He is employed there and does earn a salary so that is what he needs to request the letter include.

Maybe paystubs and bank statements are enough, my HR person translated everything into english for me.

I worked for a large Company and I could make my request for an Employers Statement online.

Also it is maybe possible that his boss writes a Letter of Recommendation, wherein he states how long your fiance worked for him and in what capacity.
