Hi everyone. I hope I posted this in the correct section but if not please feel free to move it.

I arrived here last January 18 and my I-94 will expire on April 16. Wade and I will get married on April 7. My questions are:

1. Our wedding is just a week before my I-94 expire, will it cause any problem?

2. Can I get a learner's permit for driving with my current status?

Thank you in advance. I'd really appreciate your answers.

2. Can I get a learner's permit for driving with my current status? You will need to contact your local DMV office to find out what their requirements are to get a learner's permit. Most states need to see at least en Employment Authorization card to issue anything, but like I said, call them as each state has different rules.

Okay, we will try to visit our local DMV office after I get my SS card. I hope they won't ask for EAD so I can start learning how to drive. Thank you.

You should file for adjustment of status as soon as you can after you're married. Filing the adjustment application grants you a new period of lawful status, and you can also request an employment authorization document so you can work.
