Hello everybody!

I'm a newbie here. I definitely need your help guys.

I got married to a US Citizen last August 19th 2011.. he used to work to Doha but things happened and he can go back there.. So he decided to flew back to USA and start looking for a job there and be with his family. After a week he filed for a Spousal Visa for me to be with him soon.

They received our paper last Sept 15th 2011 and we are on our Initial Review now..

Could you guys help me how long will it take for me to hear something from the Immigration? My hubby suffer in PTSD and i cant bear the pain that i cant take care of him...

Some website stated that it took only 5-6 months... and we are on our 5th months now... does that mean we will hear something anytime soon?

Any help is definitely highly appreciated.

Thank you very much!

Right now the processing times have changed and are at 6.5 months--i think. You cannot do anything but wait.

Many people want to be with their spouses to help them and take care of them. I hope your noa2 comes soon. I think they will start speeding up again.

If you have a reason to try and expedite then get his medical records that prove his conditions that show he needs you and fax or call or email USCIS with that information. You may get the request denied but it may get approved.

Good luck

Hi ibsmith

I sympathize with you and your husband. As I have a brother that has PTSD from the Iraq War. As for hear anything, there is nothing that you can do at this point but wait until you get the letter or update from USCIS.

Hang in there...

God Bless and Good Luck!!

I do not know what an F3 visa type is. So I am not sure what visa you are petioning for.

Just search around this site for a couple hours and you will see people now getting their approvals form July.

also you can find out how others got thier congressman involved after 6 months waiting.

on jan 15th you were at 4 months waiting

on feb 15th you will be at 5 months

Just do lot of reading to see others waiting 204 days or 183 days.... it may be another 2-4 months before your noa2 comes. i hope not.

god bless

We understand you frustration and anxiety but all you can do is wait. You congressman can get involved but you most likely will still have to wait. As you have not exceed the normal wait time for you NOA2 approval. You VJ timeline gives you a estimated time for approval between February and April.

Thank you so much! I will have to ask my hubby to let their congressman involved with our application and probably his medical reports too.. cuz he is undergoing into PTSD counseling.

As per this below: this is what my hubby filed for me.. and it stated 5 months.. hows that? =(

Then i think your visa type should be K3 and not F3. You can change it in your profile.

the processing times change alot. and right now they are processing petitions from end of june or begining of july. the average wait is 5 months usually but now it is 6.5 months

there is nothing you can do but just wait.

your congresman will get nothing till you are at 6.5 months--unless he is really good.

you can have husband try to expedite for medical reasons

most importantly read on this site to get informed. information is power and can help calm you when you are waiting.

Best is to keep in contact with him and reassure him everyday that you will be with him. There is no faster way to speed up the process at this point. Unless he was active duty and being deployed or severe medical issues. That is the only way to expedite a visa.
