Hey VJers!

My fiance and I are currently waiting forour NOA-2, it's been about a month now.

He currently lives in Tucson, AZ and his apartment lease is up in July. When it's up, he's moving to Mesa (about 2 hours away from Tucson). Assuming we are one of the longer waiting cases, what do we do about this problem? Do we call into the service center and send them the new address when he has it? How do we go about the change?

Just call and have them updated it - I've had to do it for me and my fiance already. They told me that it doesn't slow down the process unless they've sent notices out. Just be sure to change the address only after you've moved (a permanent address), and make sure to change it before putting in you change of address with the postal office (because they notify senders of the address change, and that could potentially cause problems with USCIS).

Read the directions on form i-129F, very clearly states, any change of address must be provided to USCIS via email or phone. The address is listed on the directions. I would say by phone may be faster.

I talked to a USCIS rep yesterday. She told me that in addition to the over-the-phone address change with USCIS, petitioners in the US should also file the online AR-11 "Change of Address" form, or send one it. It is not legally required, but it will update the address in the main database.
