My Husband and I married in Morocco last May. My last named has been hyphenated on my SS card and DL. How should I file my taxes for 2011????

You name should match what is on your SS card. The account number (SSN) is really what matters.

And have a link about joint filing:

If you can't get a SSN for him, you can request an ITN for him. You have to file married, filing jointly, and declare his worldwide income. You include a statement for him to be treated as a US Resident for the entire year.

Make you best estimate, and convert it to US dollars. It really doesn't matter, because it all gets excluded. Cool, huh?

If you have any record of his earnings, keep those for your records. Attach a separate statement showing how you determined his income, and how you converted that income to US dollars.

How do file taxes for 2011? Need a non-tax-deductible computer for one, no longer sending out forms or instruction books, have to print those out at your own expense.

How do you choose which forms to use? Easy, just read the instructions for all 1,015 forms and choose the one that fits you the best.

60% of Americans pay to have their income tax forms filled out, I believe the other 40% don't have to, because their jobs were exported to China or some other 3rd world country.

Easiest way to avoid an audit is to hire a New York tax accountant with a big name, when the IRS sees that name, won't dare touch them, you also can get away with murder by hiring such a firm. Same with large corporations, have more tax attorneys than workers, no dumb IRS employee would even want to fight with these guys. But if you are just a little guy filling out your own forms, watch out. You are the number target for an audit.

Wasn't too bad a few years ago, only 10,000 pages of tax laws, now there is over 13,000!

If you see a family starving to death, DO NOT deduct any of that money you gave them from your taxes, you will be audited and have to pay a fine. Give it to an organized charity instead, perfectly legal, even though only 10% of that money goes to helping the poor.

Just telling you the way it is. Can't deduct your expenses to and from work or school either, even though for the former, that is your income and expenses to earn that income. But if you are a CEO with a 45 million buck Gulfstream plus expenses, 100% deductible with no questions asked. Even though its used to entertain your so called customers.

This really got bad with the Reagan administration, he did promise less government regulations, and that he did for his multi-billionaire buddies, democrats and republicans since then made it even worse. Obama isn't any better, just talk on this subject.
