Hello fellow Vje'rs,

Hope everyone is doing great. I am getting ready for my citizesnhip application based on a 3 yr. marrriage to a USC. I have two non USC kids from a previous relationship that hubby petitioned thru IR2.

Here are my questions:

1. In filling up the N-400 application form, do i have to just fill out one form for my myself? or one each for me and my 2 kids?

2.What about the fees? Do i have to pay just one fee or i have to pay each separately?

3. The documents do i have to send 3 yrs. record of co-mingling finances as well or just the recent year?

Records like 3 yrs. joint bank account, bills, insurance card. etc etc.

thank u very much.

1) You can only petition for yourself. Nobody can petition for anybody else, not even a child. Children can also not petition for themselves. Once has to be at least 18 years of age in order to be able to apply for naturalization and to naturalize.

If your children have Green Cards, they become U.S. citizens automatically once you become one based on the Child Citizenship Act of 2000.

2) You pay just one fee: $680

3) The only documents you send in regard to still being married is the tax transcripts for the past 3 years.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
