Yes you can but I don't advise it. I would use a Bank Cashiers Check.

Have you ever had to track a Money Order before.? Cross those fingers.

YEs, You can use a money order. I suggest you use a check because, you can track if you petition was recieved and processed at some level. You will recieve you NOA1 (Notice of Action:I-797 form reciept) anyways. I sent a check when I filed my petition.

No I didn't...My fiance doesn't have checks and is insisting that money order from Walmart would do. I am not sure how it works and why would we need to track the money order as long as we know that the petition is received and signed for?

You can walk into any Bank and pay Cash plus a small fee for a Cashiers Check. Made out to US Dept of Homeland Security. Do you want to be like so many Members here wondering why they never got their NOA1 yet. A Walmart Money Order is added stress. But, its up to you.

My husband i alwasy use money orders, for K-1 and again for AOS and we've never had a problem. We just make sure that we get tracking on the package when we send it so that we know when they receive it

I didn't even know we could use cashier checks, I probably sound like an ignorant but I don't know all those things and how those checks and money order in USA work. Thanks a lot!

This is not about the receiving of a package but proof payment was made. A money order can take weeks to recover if lost and funds sent back to the purchaser if a mistake was made. A Bank Cashiers Check can be Validated Immediately. Thats my Point here. Respectfully. Like I said: most of the time it works out fine but sometimes errors are made. Its worth $ 5.00 .
