Hi All,

My wife in India received a letter from NVC. See the content below.

Your inquiry has been received by NVC (I did send an email in Sept 2011 regarding her case afer submitting all required documents like 230, 864 etc. and got an email saying your case is documentarily completed). Your petition was changed to the US Embassy/Consulate in Mumbai, India. If the period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents will expire. If this occurs your fees will be repaid and documents will be re submitted inorder to continue the immigration process.

case number MDR2011584 changed to BMB2011834

Please let me know what is happening? if any one come accross the similar situation. I know Kishorv1 had the same experience.

Thank You in advance

The Chennai consulate will not be reviewing any immigration petitions anymore, so what has happened is that ur wife's petition has been forwarded to the mumbai consulate, hence the change in case number. She will now have to go to Mumbai for the medicals as well as the interview. Don't worry, there's no reason to panic. MDR means Madras, BMB means Bombay.
