Hello again!

My fiance and I have been sort of set back timeline-wise, as he wasn't able to have his medical interview before visiting me over the holidays (unexpected expenses). He's back in the UK now and getting all of that done within a few weeks time, and I'm estimating we may be able to get married in late April to May, or possibly June (is that unrealistic?).

Anyway, this question's sort of odd.

I've been thinking, just casually, of moving across country to California. I'm not dead-set on anything, but I have family and friends and potential employment options out there and could probably get us set up with relative ease. Obviously none of this would happen 'til after we're married.

My question is this-- is it a bad idea to move out of state so quickly after having a K-1 Visa approved? Do we need to wait 'til the AoS is approved too? Or at least his green card? My dad is co-sponsoring and lives here in Maryland, so I wouldn't want to cause any problems with our application or cause the USCIS to have to move our case to a different regional office. I'm honestly not sure how all of that works.

Advice/personal experience would be appreciated!

No you can move any where you guys want, AS long as you let USCIS know where you are. Might be easier to do before you apply for AOS, since Im guessing you will be setting roots for at least a year. Just keep USCIS informed.

However, if he applies for US services such as food stamps, unemployment or madicinal maryjawana, you dad will be liabile for all service cost provided to him.

What part of Cal are you thinking.

Oh from past experiance I found out that living in a Van down by the river does not count as a perminate residance.

Living off government processed cheese is frowned upon, then?

Good to know! Especially about the AoS thing, because I would have thought the opposite was true for some reason. How do I go about keeping them informed? E-mails? Phone calls? Carrier pigeons? Ravens?

The aforementioned family lives in and around San Diego, so probably in that general vicinity (I still have yet to ask if they're actually willing to help me find a job/apartment, though! This plan's in the very early stages). But I also know a few people in the San Francisco Bay Area and that'd be cool too.

You can move within the US as much and as often as you want. When you do, fill out an AR-11 change of address and send it in.
