Texas Service Canter wait question + Could this screw us up again?

Hey!

I was just wondering for the people who sent their applications to the Texas Service Center, what was your wait time to get the NOA-2? What's the longest and shortest wait times you've heard of?

Also, my fiance and I sent our application back in September, but it was returned because the ammount of the cheque was wrong. When we received the petition back, the major forms were signed by someone, but things like the pictures for evidence and plane ticket receipts weren't, so when he sent it back, he didn't include the pics or receipts. Could that pose another problem?

Everyone sends their petitions to the Texas lockbox. However, it does not adjudicate petitions. It simply opens them up, cashes the check, and sends the petition off to either Vermont or California. Check out Igor's List to see where each service center is at in terms of processing. It's usually 4-6 months.

The major forms were signed by someone, likely because they were checking to make sure the correct forms were there. They didn't take a look at your evidence because that's what Vermont or California does. So he should simply have sent back the original package, but with a new check for the right amount.

Are you saying he removed the pictures and receipts and only sent in the forms that had a signature on them? If so, you will likely get an RFE because he took the supporting evidence out of the package.

If you did not include evidence of meeting within last 2 years you will either get an RFE or denial.
