Hey everyone,

My problem is I sent a request to postpone my oath ceremony with a letter explaining everything but I haven't received any response yet! My oath ceremony is January 5th (This Thurs.)

Should I go to the oath ceremony since I haven't received anything yet?

I checked my status online and it says "On December 19, 2011, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location"

I don't know what should I do?

I would appreciate helping me from your valuable experience

Did you follow the instructions for re-scheduling the oath ceremony correctly? If so, your request would not have been overlooked. Whatever may be the situation, it is pretty obvious now that you have to take the oath on Jan 5th. Go for it so that you do not complicate things any further.

What most likely has happened is they have got your information and have cancelled your Jan 5th Oath. They have not put you into processing yet for a new oath ceremony and so they haven't sent you anything yet (which could take months depending). The worst case is that you just show up on Jan 5th and they would just tell you that you aren't enrolled in that ceremony at all that day and send you home.

Though INS can be tricky and if they haven't gotten notice of your oath yet then you not showing up means you have abandoned the ceremony. I'd make an INFOPASS appointment and see if they can help you out further. Either way I would at least show up to the Jan 5th ceremony and just see if you are sent home or not...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...
