Hello. Happy New Year to Everyone!

This is my question:

I went to Civil Registrar in our Municipality and asked the personnel there about my inquiry. Since, I noticed that in our Marriage Cert, the civil status of my husband is SINGLE. I got worried because he put WIDOWER since his wife died. But the officer said, it is no big deal. It has no problem because the important thing was he qualified to get married.

Do you think would it be alright? or should I contact NSO? We are planning to file for DCF hopefully as early this year.

I need you insights please.

Thanks.

Reality is its probably fine, if there are ever questions about whether he was legally able to marry a copy of his deceased wife's death certificate would handle things. Afterall a widower IS single, I know for myself I don't tell people all the time I am a widower, I say I am single. Widower simple means a sad event occured.

Since your asawa had to submit an Affidavit in Lieu of a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry there shouldn't be a reason to worry. Enjoy the new year.
