Here is a link that should help you out. It is for someone who did the process in Minnesota so not all the info will be relevant, but it will point you in the correct direction for forms etc.

What you want is Proof of Citizenship for your child as she has derivative Canadian citizenship through you. Here is theform you need to complete and the instructions/information. http://www.cic.gc.ca...ions/certif.asp

While the overview states if you are outside of Canada to contact your local Consulate for a mailing address, the actual instructions state that the Sydney Case Processing Center address is the correct address for applications both from within Canada and from the US. The complete address is in the instructions.

Fill out the application as if it were your daughter answering the questions. You can pay the $75 fee on line with a credit card, then print out and include the receipt with the package. Be sure to bring the photographic requirements with you to your photographer - poor quality photographs is the single main reason why applications are sent back. US standards for passports and such are generally not as rigid as Canadians ones are so many photographers don't take the time to make sure the photographs are perfect. You need to make sure that you don't leave unless the photographs are perfect and satisfy the photographic requirements. Current processing times are taking about 6 months and the proof will be mailed to your daughter at your address..

Once you have her Proof of Citizenship, you can then apply for her Canadian passport. If you wanted to get her a S.I.N. you can, especially if you think you may be setting up any sort of financial plans (education fund, etc.) in Canada, but it isn't necessary unless you or she intend to live in Canada.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
