Well I am about to apply for AOS and my question is do I have to apply for EAD since I will not work till i recieve my GC ..I am now studying..

so if i didn't apply for EAD and I get my PR card is that makes me legal to work without EAD CARD??? :help:

AOS JOURNEY:

2007- April -25: AOS SENT AND FILED

2007- April -27:AOS package delivered

2007- May -05: NOA1 recieved in Mail

2007- May -23: Biometrics Appointment @ 9 Am

2007- May -15: RFE recieved

2007- June-05:RFE paper sent

2007- June-08: RFE recieved

2007- August- 08 : Interview at 10 A.M

2007- october- 04 :Card production ordered

2007-october- 05: Welcome letter recieved in mail

2007-october-11 : Approval notice sent

Salwa, if you're not planning on working then no don't apply for it. You would just have to pay more and do extra work for the application for no reason. I hope you're well!

Thank you Sarah ..I am fine just nauseating and dizzzy and tired all the time because of my pregnancy :)

No, you don't have to apply for the EAD in your AOS. Your LPR (GC) will give you the legal right to work, so don't bother with the EAD. It takes a while anyway; my wife got her EAD only about two months before her AOS interview, so the EAD was a waste of time & money for us.

N-400 interview: 18 Nov 2008 Passed!

Our daughter Emmy is born!: 23 Dec 2008

Oath ceremony: 29 Jan 2009 Complete! Woo-hoo no more USCIS!
