My wife has a ticket to Dublin Ireland book into her married name from her job, her passport is still under her maiden name. I called Delta airline and they say there should be no problem as long as she carries the Original marriage certificate with her.

HAS ANYBODY TRIED THIS?? :(

I was working in an HR office in May when an employee called panicked from the airport, because of that situation. She was trying to go to Paris, and she had this huge issue with the security, who refused to let her through, and she hadn't brought her marriage certificate (d'oh). We faxed them the marriage certificate and she was allowed to get through no problem.

However, she and her husband were both from Iran, although they had grown up here. I don't know if they were hassled more because of that or anything...

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

My passport has my maiden name on it but I travel under my married name. It has never been an issue and I have never carried a marriage certificate with me. However, it probably wouldn't hurt to carry it with you just to put your mind at ease, and you never know if you'll run into an overzealous employee.

Thanks all

I feel at ease a little bit, I was just worried she would get to the airport and have problem with security while checking. She's traveling with a group of 4 so it would be really embarrassing if she's left behind.
