My husband has no records of his vaccines. He knows he had some when he was a baby, but they don't know where his papers are. Can anyone recommend to us if we should just wait til we get to Juarez to see what the doctor's tell him to get or should he go ahead and get some of them done where he lives now. I've heard it's cheaper to do it more locally rather than in Juarez.

Also-Do the records he obtains from his doctor from where he lives need to be translated for the medical center?

Thank you so much!

Well, our case is in Peru. We had the medical exam last friday. The embassy says do not obtain vaccinations until you have seen the embassy's doctor. I will tell you why. The US embassy requires 14 or 15 vaccinations unless the doctor deems them inappropriate. Of the 15 or so vaccinations the US embassy required, the Embassy's doctor only administered 4 vaccinations and deemed the others inappropriate for my wife.

So, I would recommend going to the medical and waiting for the doctor to determine which vaccunas are appropriate. Do not worry about lost vaccination records because most people don't have them available and the embassy doctors know this.
