difference between DS230 and packet 3

What once was issued by the consulate as packet 3 is now handled at the NVC level for CR-1 via the various forms/bills including the DS-230. What one receives from the consulate (formerly known as packet 4) is now called an interview packet. You will receive the interview packet once your interview has been scheduled.

hey pirates queen thanks for that

so should I send the whole form(DS230) and barcode coversheet only?no instruction??!!

thanks

No, dont include the instructions.

Regarding the DS-230.....

Click on the appropriate link for what is required. If the top link does not apply to the country of the applicant/beneficiary, then you are only required to submit part I along with a photocopy of the biographics page of the passport

Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants (applying in Albania, Canada, Lebanon, Philippines, Turkey, United Arab Emirates or on the continent of Africa)

When one is required to submit both parts 1 & II and all documents listed in the above link, the NVC reviews all documents and schedules the interview. Part 1 should only be signed not part II as that has to be signed at the interview stage in front of the conof.

Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants (NOT applying in Albania, Canada, Lebanon, Philippines, Turkey, United Arab Emirates or on the continent of Africa)

When one is only required to submit DS-230 part 1 and a copy of the biographics page of the passport, the consulate will schedule the interview.
