My husband had the typical vaccines as a baby, but his mom isn't able to find any medical records of this. Will he have to get them redone if he doesn't have any papers? Also, does anyone know if medical papers he brings (in case they find them) need to be translated into English?

thanks!

Can my husband go to his doctor where he lives and get the vaccines done instead of having them at the consulate medical center and then just bring his papers? Does he need them translated?

Yes he can get his medical done form some authorized doctor and carry the record at the time of medical check up, in fact it will quite cost effective. yup, he needs to translate it in english.

Any document you are carrying that are in other language you must get it translated in English by authorized person.

He can get them done in Mexico. If he has 'IMSS or ISSSTE' he can go there and ask for the vaccines for free, they may deny to give him some since some vaccines are only for kids but I suggest he tries to gets as many as he can.. even if he has to pay for them with a private docTor I am sure it would be cheaper than in the US. (I got all my vaccines in mx and when I went to the CS here I had to get the mumps vaccine even though I got mumps when I was a child and I'm immune but they dont take your word for it so its better to have proof...btw that vaccines was 80 bucks, ridiculous!)

I did have my medical records since I was a baby and I did not need to translate them, I guess depends on the CS you go to.

I wouldn't worry about getting them all done ahead of time. My wife had no records of any vaccines but the clinic doctor knew what all Malaysian babies get, what Malaysian schools give out, and what's appropriate for her age. She ended up only needing two. Plus some of the required vaccines are actually a course, but only the first is really needed for visa purposes. Normal doctors aren't always big on giving you only the first dose of a course of vaccines, but the clinic doctors don't care.

You might try calling the certified clinic and asking what vaccines they usually give before you go get a ton of shots. Ouch!

Yeah, that's because she's NOT in the US yet.... In your home country doctors are gonna tell you that you don't need some vaccines (because we actually don't need them anymore) I dont know the CR1 process but at least for k1's when you come to the US and try to adjust status you need proof of having ALL vaccines so I really recommend him to get them ahead of time and cheaper.
