I had my wife fill out and sign this version of the DS-3032 naming me as the agent: http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/80023.pdf

We didn't send it with the original OPTIN email. On the top in the barcode space I had her write in our GZO number. Then after she sent it to me and I looked it over, I sent it from my email address. No IV bill has been posted to the NVC online payment system.

I got two strange emails later on with these subject lines:

ACL FOR NEOPOST DS-1200

PAOSF I-130 FOR NEOPOST DS-1200

Both of them have pdf attachments with another version of the DS-3032, but one of them contains an invoice for the AOS bill (which I have paid and the I-864 has just been sent). Is there anything wrong here?

ya, sorta.

1. you not opt in yet. you need to opt in properly

2. the thing received in email is the standard 'ds-3032 kit' which includes the aos fee bill.

remedies:

1. OPT IN

2. WAIT till you have a GZO #.

errata - you can pay the AOS fee fill now, but without a DS-3032 in the casefile (usually because of the OPT IN) expect no IV fee bill (unless a G-28 was filed with the I-130) until the DS-3032 gets into the casefile.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

ya, this DS-3032 is 'fun', ya?

inputs:

1. send the form data only via email to nvcinquiry@state.gov - only useful for paper cases, referenced in the wiki here. Confuses the path for OPTing IN, as it's not what they expect. Expect a delay, then something else referenced in #2.

2. use the ds-3032 form in the dl section of the NVC Electronic Processing Wiki page, and OPT IN properly. This form is fillable. must go to nvcelectronic@state.gov

3. wait for the 'DS-3032 kit' to show up via email. Note the form isn't fillable. Have yer lass hand fill it, rescan as a pdf, attach to an email with the proper OPT IN stuff . This version is outdated, by the way, but the GUZ # is 'printed' on it. must go to nvcelectronic@state.gov

IMO, input 2 is the right way to go for NVC Electronic Processing for casefiles headed to GUZ IV. Anything else is a waste of time, as eventually you'll have to OPT IN PROPERLY, regardless.

I've got some steps and caveats listed on the NVC Electronic Processing wiki page.

FYI - the 'ds-3032 kit' is referenced here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/

and is always sent to the petitioner after that initial telephone contact, regardless of the casefile type, when the AOS fee bill is ready.

how very strange.

GZO numbers are issued AFTER a successful OPT IN.

i guess the other bit, really, is what # you used when paying any fee, GUZ or GZO.

Ultimately, in the middle of all this, the collected documents are rehomed to the GZO #, internally at NVC, you not need to do anything to make that happen - it just occurs in the course of normal stuff.

My confusion lies in what's going on...

Here's some timeticks for NVC EP for casefiles headed to GUZ IV - perhaps if you filled them in with dates, I could have a better sense of 'where you are' ??

ah - ok - so basically yer in limbo, because not include the ds-3032 with the OPT IN email.

Got it.

Ya, ds-3032 inclusion in the casefile - the #1 'thing' that happens - is that the IV fee bill is then visible in the online payment portal for payment.

So ya need a few days for NVC to catch up, get all in order, on yer casefile.

Now I understand.

Thanks SO MUCH for filling out these timeticks, gives me a better sense of what occured, prior.
