ROC process slowing down to a halt according to local news paper

I was reading some Asian community news paper recently and there was a big article about how the USCIS has slowed down pretty much everything especially the ROC to a halt. No official explanation was given, only speculations such as lack of funds, too much applications (quota), too much frauds, this, that.

My question is, are we looking at a longer than 12-month applications across the board for us? And a perfect excuse for USCIS to say that our extensions are expired so GTFO and you can't do much because either you have no money or up against the "man" is almost impossible? You know, "trolling".

I understand that there are ppl here waited almost a year for USCIS to get their approval, some even past their promised time. I also understand that if that's the case N-400 is the way to go. It just bothers me so much after reading the paper article and reading nothing but negative posts about the ROCs.

Somehow I feel a perfect storm is brewing.

September filers have been getting approvals for CSC already. Many are zipping through the process.

Asian community newspapers (other than local stories) usually just cherry pick news from other major media outlets. Did they provide a source for the story? If not it was just speculation on their part.

Slowing down the process would create a disaster for USCIS. They cannot control the inflow of requests from the general public, and even a short delay would create a snowball effect of backed up applications.

i dont think that paper has as much experience with USCIS as most of us who are ROCing. so i am inclined to dismiss their speculation and place my faith in the evidence borne out by vj member reports.

things are not at a stand still. certainly not for CSC, and even pokey VSC is still chugging along.

as for the comment about deportations (GTFOs).... well now youre just being six shades of crazy.

I wouldn't worry about a non-US news commenting on the USCIS Process, unless their Director is one of the big chiefs at the USCIS. An extremely small percentage had waited longer than a year for ROC. Besides the filing fee for ROC go towards processing fee. Hey, it's not just the Martians news, Tin Tin also said that all is well. We have to endure that 7-9 months wait fot VSC. Don't worry.

Have a look at the timelines threads here (such as I-751 _month_ 2011), it seems people are being approved in a reasonable time... although VSC seems to be taking a little longer in general. I would trust the timelines on this board more than local/community newspapers... I understood exactly what my expected timeline would be just by following other's timelines here.

Mar. 2011: I-751 waiver petition sent (divorce decree missing); decree rcvd' & sent: Apr. 2011

Oct. 2011: permanent GC approved (no interview); rcvd': Dec. 2011

Dec. 2013 - Citizenship application N-400 (90 days to 5 yr. LPR)

Sorry, I deleted my personal data / timeline info because of a crazy person/stalker in the site - you never know what a disturbed person can do...

if you need any info, feel free to ask me =)
