Hi

I called NVC this morning to check out what's going on, the representative said that my marriage certificate is not issued by the appropriate authority, however in Morocco all marriage certificates are issued by the ministry of justice family division. How can I address this issue please??

Thanks

Did you get the final stamp in Rabat from the minister of foriegn affairs? The stamps will validate the local municipality's stamps.

the Stamp of the ministry of foreign affairs means it is a valid document to all international countries that recognise your country. This questioning always happens if the language is rather than english and the country uses different kinds of marriage certificates. Because they (NVC) might have one marriage certificate as a sample or guidance while yours might be different due to regional style preferences in your home country. There is a criteria for every country in the Visa bulletin website, please check for your country criteria. When you find out, study what they are asking you for your petition and answer them accordingly. If they insist still, request senior officer to look into your case and at the same time contact your embassy in DC and ask them what they can do for you. GOOD luck and you can not qoute me in the court of law. But something like this happened to me before.
