When did your fiance start his job? My fiance just found one this November, and the income is quite sufficient. It's his first job since he's still in college with a couple of semesters left to finish... meaning no ITR filed yet. I found out though, that US Embassy Manila accepts co sponsors if the petitioner is a college student.

He is now permanently employed and earning enough money. What consul told me is, he did not meet the poverty guideline. Its show in his income tax that he is unemployed in the early part of 2010 so maybe that make the consul deny our case. In window 72, a Filipino lady gave me a white paper with an BIG X- You likely be come a public charge. But she told me we have 12 mos to submit proof that he has sustained income to support me.

He started his job October this year and he earns more than enough to support me. He is a regular, full time employee. But my fear is he was unemployed early this year. According to him he meet the required amount for income tax return for this year which is around 18k (his is around 20k). Hopefully I'll be having my medical and interview next year. Still waiting for our NOA 2.

Did the consul tell/inform you what is the minimum requirement for the last year's income tax return for your fiance? Because according to my fiance he should meet 18k or more for the whole year.

My tax returns from 2010 do not meet the requirements, but my current job does, so I wrote a notorized letter explaining why my income was so low the last year (I was in college). I think cause of my age they will understand, too. I hope...

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

Did your fiance work last year (2010)? Did he meet the minimum income tax requirement for 2010?

with this Khaizen, you were given a 221g form where you need to submit additional documents as proof that he has sustained income to support you...it could be bank statements, recent current pay stubs, or even co sponsor..keep your faith high..hang on Khaizen, God is in control :)

My fiance meets the annual minimum requirement too (if we multiply his monthly salary by 12). Just make sure everything is complete when you go to USEM for your interview. Bring with you his letter of employment (have it notarized just in case), and copies of pay stubs. By the way, is he a student? If he is, you can prepare a back up sponsor because sometimes, USEM gives consideration to students or newly grads.

Did you ask them to consider your co-sponsors during the interview? Sometimes, you have to be persistent. You should have explained that he just graduated. Did you?

She is just sharing her experience during her interview. It's just she doesn't know how to use "quote" function.

Happy New Year!
