My biometrics appointment will be in a couple of weeks and I'm still trying to figure out what form of identification should bring. It says I must bring a government-issued ID. I dont have a state ID yet. I do have my passport but its under my maiden name...other than that all I have is my college ID. Should I bring my passport and a copy of my marriage certificate?

Timeline:

06/02/2002: arrived in the US with B1/B2 visa (overstayed)

08/16/2010: wedding day

04/15/2011: submitted i-130 package (Chicago Lock box)

04/18/2011: received NOA-1 for i-130, check cashed

07/11/2011: received NOA-2 for i-130 approval

10/17/2011: submitted i-485 package (Chicago Lock Box)

10/26/2011: USCIS received payment/check cashed for i-485 package

10/31/2011: received NOA-1 for i-485 and i-765

11/03/2011: received biometrics appointment

11/18/2011: biometrics appointment

12/08/2011: received notice for failed biometrics

12/16/2011: walk-in biometrics (successful)

12/30/2011: EAD ordered and in production

01/03/2012: Received NOA for AOS interview

01/06/2012: Recieved EAD

02/07/2012: AOS interview day (APPROVED!)

Bring original marriage certificate and passport to be safe. They sent us home 3 times (first time just passport, second time a copy of marriage certificate after the supervisor said a copy would suffice, third time the original after the supervisor said he didn't want to see a copy anymore).

Just bring your passport. That's all my wife brought (it had her maiden name on it), and everything turned out just fine. Don't forget to bring the biometrics letter itself!

Day 18: 07 Oct 2010 Biometrics appointment letter received for 29 Oct 2010 (dated 01 Oct 2010)

Day 19: 08 Oct 2010 Walk-in biometrics (took about 10 minutes)

Day 47: 05 Nov 2010 Received letter (dated 01 Nov 2010) for Interview on 07 Dec 2010

Day 68: 26 Nov 2010 I-131 TOUCHED: AP approved

your philippine passport is what you need. marriage cert is not acceptable because it has no picture of you (not an ID doc)

if you also have a philippine driver's license or prc card, those work too =)
