This was what NVC replied to my email inquiry just now:

"Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC recently received this petition. The appropriate agent

(applicant, petitioner, or attorney) will receive instructions for the

further processing of this petition within 6 to 8 weeks."

So they already received the petition. Why didn't they give me our MNL case number yet? From this email, how soon can we make another follow-up email?

It seems as though they haven't started working on the case yet so it wouldn't have a number yet.

Call the NVC and speak to an operator and ask for the MNL case number to be sure.

Ok... Thank you!

Will ask my fiance to call NVC tomorrow morning, EST time. ;-)

Did the email contains a date when they received it? From my experience before, it usually takes NVC a week to assign a case number... Lately, from what I read in the several posts here, NVC is taking longer than a week... Goodluck to your journey!!!
