I submitted the Affidavit of support online today. We are registered for electronic filing since we'll be going through the embassy in Ciudad Juarez. I was reading that the next step is to prepare for the immigrant visa interview by sending originals of my husband's birth certificate, our marriage certificate, copy of his passport and police record with translations. If I'm filing electronically, would I just be scanning these documents and e-mailing them??

I'm a little confused. Doesn't he need the originals for the interview?

Help!!!

Also, does anyone know about how long it takes for the Affidavit of support to be processed?

Thanks :)

I don't know how long it takes for the affidavit of support to be processed, but I do know that you should never send an original hard copy of anything to the embassy and that you also don't need a police record for your Mexican spouse. I suppose that if copies of the other documents are specifically requested then you would scan and email them like you suggested, but I'm pretty sure you're at the stage now where you just wait it out and go to the interview. Someone else can confirm to be sure.

Yes hand carry the originals to the interview. All documentation will be emailed to NVC when doing electronic processing.

Please note that the one and only US Embassy in Mexico is located in Mexico City. Just like every country ANY country has an Embassy, it's located in the Capital City. Ciudad Juarez hosts a US "Consulate", not an Embassy.
