My names on the lease, and so on the court letter. But im in the UK awaiting the final few months of the CR1, so obviously dont have a social security yet. Court date is this friday.

Husband is going to court and will set up a payment plan, but i cant go since im not in the country- will i be in contempt of court?. He was unemployed for a few weeks, didnt get paid by old job etc so had to move out.

Worrying now. Help!

It is Not a Comtempt of Court Issue nor a Immagration Issue. A Lease is always in the favor of the lessor to the Lessee. If a payment arrangement is made it should have no effect and no records to effect your CR1. Just avoid a Judgement but that takes months to even show as well.

I doubt this will effect you but protect your credit.

You're not going to be in contempt of court. This is a civil lawsuit. If you and your fiancee fail to show to defend yourself, the judge would probably enter a default judgment. You don't get a contempt of court for failing to show up. Your fiancee is there to protect your joint interest, so relax.
