Hi all,

I am familiar with the official visa documents for the interview at http://brazil.usembassy.gov/interview/forms-for-fiancee-visas.html

However, I had some specific questions about the I-134. Since the Consulate did not respond to my email from last week I will post here.

My sister is cosponsor since she has held a consistent job for the last few years. She is not self-employed so does she need to provide her tax return or is just the banking info and employer info sufficient?

Since I have having my sister cosponsor and I do not have consistent employment, do I just need to fill out the I-134 and thats it since I am not actively employed? Should I bring a copy of a recent bank statement and provide a statement as to my employment status?

The requirements say 125% above the poverty guidelines. What is the specific dollar amount? My sister on her 2010 tax return made around $23,000 for her and her daughter, however her current salary that is stated in the employment letter is around $30,000.

Also in terms of copies or originals, I am currently in Brazil and my sister is in the USA now and my fiancee's interview will be soon. Would it be ok to have my sister email those documents to me and I just print them out? Feedback would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Both you and your sister should submit three years tax returns. If you claim income currently, it is best to document it.

How much 125% is depends on your/ your sister's household. For example, if you have no kids or other dependants, for you it might be 2 people (you + fiance)= $18'387. If your sister has a husband and one child, her household would be sister+ husband+child+ your fiance= 4 people= $27'937 (see here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf ). As your sister is over that currently, and can document it with employment letter and paystubs/ bank statement, you should be ok.

Original signatures are needed.
