By international dating, meaning developing relationship with a girl in another country and starting K-1 process. Also being able to provide a comfortable life for her once she gets to the states...

Well, it really all depends on where in the US does the petitioner live, which country the beneficiary lives in (i.e. if it's Canada or Mexico, it's much easier/cheaper to make trips to each other's country), and your definition of 'comfortable' life. :P

Purely based on personal experience and travel and visa expenses, I'd say $35,000+.

Also... the beneficiary can help pay, too, in many circumstances. ;) I'm the beneficiary and covered the entire costs of the travel, visa, moving expenses, AOS and ROC.

To be very honest, irrespective of K1 visa, making anything below $35,000 in the USA especially in a major downtown or nice suburb is not gonna cut it to have a 'Comfortable lifestyle'.

For those wishing to bring a significant over to the USA, should plan to have some savings on hand and supporting your spouse, b/c he/she will not be working immediately upon arrival
