My fiancee and I have the initial approval from the USCIS and right now we are both just sort of sitting around and waiting. Atm, as I understand the process, the visa package needs to go through the NVC then onto the consulate in London (I am British), do London contact me once they have received the paperwork or do I need to ring them about it so that I can start the process of arranging a medical and getting an interview date?

Thanks.

Check out the k1 flow chart as to the process. If you want to prepare in advance you can check the details found on your local embassy site as to what will be included in Packet 3 and can then go ahead and get ready what you will need for Packet 3 and can also get things ready for the interview stage. Hope this answers what you are wanting to know.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

Great!

Packet 3 for London is available online: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html The only thing that the Embassy will send you is a piece of paper with the URL to that link.

It would be a good idea to start filling out the forms there and getting the neccessary information from your fiancee for the I-134 (recent paystubs, tax transcripts, letter from employer).

You can call the DOS for updates; as soon as London as "issued" your packet three, you can send the forms off.

My fiance and I also got our approval at the beginning of September. Once we got our approval, we had him get his police report. During this wait time, the NVC logged us in and we got our new case number from the DOS (LND#######) for London. Once he had this, he was able to schedule his Medical. He has yet to receive his "packet 3", but he has already called the embassy and they've logged our case into their system. He should be mailing them all of our forms in the next day or two. I hope this helps you and good luck in your journey!

Cheers!

Almost!

Once your case is transfered from the NVC to London, you will get your new case number (the LND number). You don't need to do anything to 'get' that case number... (besides call the DOS if you'd like to receive it earlier...)

Once London has 'issued' your packet three (the DOS can tell you this, too), you can book your medical. Don't attend the medical until your packet three has been issued, as you might not yet be in the system. You don't want your medical results getting lost anywhere :)

Just to clarify. I need to fill out all the paperwork, all the DS ones that they have asked for, in order for them to give me the case number so that I can the case number I need in order to book the medical?

Ive got my police document already sorted

OK thanks, I just dont want to be sitting around and potentially wasting time if there is anything I can do/should be doing to get the medical along with all other paperwork sorted. We all know what it is like and im just as impatient as everyone else haha

Been reading up as much as possible and trying to keep up to date with how the various processes work. I was made aware of the paperwork before just wasnt sure if I needed to wait on them contacting me or if I needed to fill it out and send it all to them because they talk about them processing it etc.

I am just wanting to be in a position to get the medical sorted ASAP so that I can get the readiness for interview form sent into the visa team at the consulate and get an interview date sorted.

Well you can call the medical folks and see when their appointment times are. if they say they can see you in 8 days, and you can get a police cert in 7 days, then you can be done with that in 8 days. There are folks who get their police cert, then 7 days later call for a medical appointment and wait another 8 days. It'd be great if you can time it all so as soon as the embassy has your case then the police cert and medical are right there the very next day. That can shave considerable time off your wait, and most of it is wait!
