I have a question for everyone, please. Once my husband arrives to the USA, according to my lawywer, his greencard will arrive in the mail shortly after his arrival. Is that true, please?? Im assuming that is accurate, but I have read different stories on here that people have had to do an adjustment of status once they came to the destination in the USA!!! Thank you for help in advance!!!

First of all, he will get an I-551 stamp in his passport which is a temporary green card, and then the real card will show up in a few weeks, but the passport stamp is exactly the same so he can get a job (once he has SS#), open a bank account (needs SS#), get a drivers license (also needs SS#), travel outside the US--everything that is granted by the real green card, so don't worry--be VERY VERY happy !!!

NO Adjustment of Status required since he is coming on CR-1 / IR-1 visa
