May I ask a bout being put under AP? Would you know right away after interview that your case is under AP and be given 221g form? I haven't received any 221g so I guess and I hope that my case is not under AP, keeping my finger crossed though. Up to now my visa was not delivered yet and thinking that my case might be under AP, I hope not. Thanks for any insight you can share.

Yes, sometimes it does happen that you have interview and not given a 221g only to find that your visa isn't on time and you call and ask about it to find out you are in AP... You can call DOS and inquire about your case...they can tell you if the visa has been issued and if your in AP or not.

Good luck..

I emailed them and they said that my case is being reviewed by a CO, is that also putting AP? and what could be the possible reasons of being put under AP?

I'm on my 7th weeks now under AP. I was not given a 221g form.

what's the reason of being put on AP? and during your interview, did they tell you that your visa is approved or not? cause in my case the CO told me "welcome to the us' i guess that's the other term for congratulations and the Filipino guy at the final counter told me that my visa will just be delivered, maybe i am just being paranoid waiting, sigh :(

a Review at embassy of your case is still part of AP... may only last a couple of days or weeks... prob not months... There may have been some documents they need to look at closer..

There are many ppl that get the welcome to usa and then later find out they are in AP without ever getting a 221g form at that time.

Call DOS and ask... simple as that... they will know. If they say Review at embassy then yeah its AP... AP is like a general term for everything that they do under it.. like review of your case, field investigations, contacting the US spouse/fiance, anything and everything they do is part of AP. They just want to be sure that they issue the visa correctly.

It means you were approved! But mine was when my number is called in then on the counter the guy just look at my paper and say wait for your number to be call at Window 70. Waited for 2 hours then I was interviewed in Booth 44. Then filipina girl asked me question and had me signed it as a sworn statement. then told me that they have to forward my case at the immigrant visa section for further review.

They did keep my passport.

When the Embassy keeps your passport, it's a very good sign. It means that you will get your visa. The Embassy won't tell you why your case is under review, and you never know how long the review will take. You just have to wait. But, in the end, you will have your visa in your hot little hand and it will rock your world!!!
