Hi all,

Does anyone know how long my fiance will have to leave his country (India) before his K-1 visa stamp expires? The website says he will have a maximum of 6 months, but I'm interested to know what is the minimum amount of time he will have to travel on his K-1 visa stamp.

thank you!

they can travel as soon as the visa is in the passport and they have the passport back, they have a maximum time of 6 months in which to use that visa, and once that visa is used they have to be married within 90 days

Nearly there, and for those who are just starting the k1 it is a long wait but once it is over the time feels well spent

Hi,

Well, I understand that he will have UP TO 6 months, but that is the MAX he will have, according to USCIS website. Is it possible that the stamp will be valid for only, say 1, 2 or 3 months?
