Reporting your marriage is not required, but you can report it at any time. However, you will be required to report your marriage if you want to amend or renew your Filipino passport. You will need to report your marriage to the Philippines Consulate that has jurisdiction over the city where you got married. You can find out which Philippines Consulate has jurisdiction over the place where you got married by finding it on the map which is located on the Philippines Embassy's website. You will find the details for reporting your marriage and you will see the the form you need to submit on the Consulate's website.

i had my report of marriage last june... just to make things in order... so that whenever circumstance it might need it, i wouldn't be in rush of reporting marriage... anyways, its just simple... not like doing all the packet that we've been through...

1. fill out application form, have it notarized

2. provide passport photos of both husband and wife

3. copy and original marriage certificate

4. money order

5. self return address with stamp

here's the link of one of the Philippine Embassies where i reported my marriage:

note: you should know where is the right consulate for your state...

The same people who take care of the passport stuff and the report of marriage. We were going to Baltimore for Thanksgiving so we left two days early to tour Washington DC and take care of the Embassy paperwork.

We took care of the Report of Marriage first and when complete, the same folks let her apply for the e-passport in her married name. They gave us our "Report of Marriage" on the spot.

It's always good to report your marriage especially if it's an option for you to live in the Philippines. Apart from changing ones name in the passport, it will also serve as your "marriage certificate" when you are required to present one by the bank, government office (PRC, SSS, Philhealth, etc). I reported my marriage as soon as I could and it was an easy process. My papers were available in NSO around 3 months later.

25 January 2010: Concurrent filing of I-130, I-485, EAD and AP - sent via UPS overnight delivery to Chicago Lockbox

26 January 2010: Received by receptionist CHIBA at 8:30 AM/Received date on NOA

02 February 2010: Checked cashed/Notice date

05 February 2010: Received NOA's for I-130,I-485,I-131,I-130

13 February 2010: Received ASC Appointment Notice for Biometrics.

17 February 2010: Date of RFE for Federal Tax 1040/Received Text & Email confirmation

19 February 2010: Received RFE in mail

22 February 2010: Mailed Response to RFE via USPS Express mail

24 February 2010: Package delivered and received at Lee's Summit office

26 February 2010: Biometrics DONE/RFE Received-case processing resumed

17 March 2010: Email approval notifications - EAD & AP.

22 March 2010: Received AP by mail. Received interview schedule notice for 22 April.

22 April 2010: Greencard Approved :)

Removal of Conditions

24 January 2012: Sent I-751 petition via USPS Overnight

25 January 2012: Delivered at CSC, Receipt Date NOA1

27 January 2012: Checked cashed

30 January 2012: Received NOA in mail.

06 February 2012: Received Biometrics notice (dated 03 Feb)

02 March 2012: Biometrics appointment.
