Hello Everyone,

I applied for my husband’s visa in July 2009. I have submitted all the documents required by the embassy. My husband had his interview on the 28th of December 2010. On the day of the interview, my husband found out that our marriage certificate in Urdu (translation), and wedding pictures were missing. However, I have submitted that, with all other documents as well. We submitted the missing documents right away and the embassy received those documents on the 4th of January. The Visa Officer who interviewed said that if we submitted the documents right away, they will issue the visa within 90 days. It’s been 10 months now. I have been trying to contact the embassy and have not received any satisfying reply other than the case is under AP... even when I call them they say that the case is under the "administrative process." I have been asking them why the case is under ‘AP’ and how long will it take? Yet I am not getting any replies at all even though I am the US citizen and the petitioner. I should have all the rights to know every fact. If the delay is due to paperwork, they should tell us so we can submit those documents to expedite the process....I have also lost my baby due to this stupid stress i was in...

I was living in pak first but now am back... hating my life...

just wanted to know if the ap is only for guys nowdays..since all the girls are getting visas right away even from the family...

i hate this...

is anyone else under AP for that long?

I have contacted the senator, congressman, lawyer everyone.. does that make any difference.??

thanks

First let me say I am sorry about the loss of your baby. There are women that get AP but usually their AP is very short.

You are right as the petitioner you should have every right to know all the facts in your case but it just doesn't work that way. My husband as been in AP/AR for 10 months too. The embassy won't return my emails so I call DOS every week.

I have also contacted my Senator's office. They sent 2 emails to the embassy and the embassy won't respond. So on Wednesday the Senator's office will contact The Dept of State to try to get help with the embassy. It does help to have your Senator or Congressman inquire about your case. It won't speed up the AP but it will show the embassy that you are serious about your relationship.

The number for the DOS is 202-663-1225 press 1, then 0

I had to call my Senator's office 3 times before they would help me so don't give up. It's good that you sent medical reports to the embassy. I hope they will make a decision on your case soon.
