NVC Electronic Processing How Do You Send ID Photos?

My case is on NVC Electronic Processing program.

I think I submitted every DS-230 documents, including the ID photo. I merged everything in one big PDF file, with the photo occupying a separate page of its own, with no white margin beyond the 2 inch boundary.

However the NVC operator told me the ID photos are missing (either they did not see it, or they rejected, I don't know). I will have to re-send the ID photos.

How do you guys who do Electronic Processing send the ID photos?

1. Place two physical color photo on the scanner bed, and scan it into PDF file. Very lousy resolution but it shows you have the real physical photos.

2. Directly convert the digital JPG picture file into PDF, using adobe acrobat. You get a PDF file when opened, it looks like just 2x2 inches, with no white margin beyond the 2x2 inch area. I think this presents the best fidelity.

3. Open a MS Word document, then insert two photo image files. Add text to describe what the photos are, etc. Then print the page into one PDF file (using CutePDF or whatever you have).

Which method did you guys use and which works with NVC?

I did something similar to this. I put the photo on the scanner and scanned it as a JPEG file. I then used the software on my computer to insert it into the PDF file I was creating.

I have sophisticated image editing tools myself. That is not the issue. The NVC web site merely allows you to edit an image file and then re-save it as JPG. However when submitting photos to NVC they want PDF file.

My question is which kind of PDF file do they want? They should have just accept plain good old JPG for photos.

I'm certain there are a lot of ways to do this. If you have the CutePDF writer and you've scanned the image to JPG. To convert it to PDF, I click "print" or ctrl+p, and select CutePDF writer as my output source and save the converted image. This is just easier for me.

It's lame that you already have digital camera and digital photos, but you are scanning a printed out photo into digital image, losing resolution and sharpness doing so. But then it's up to NVC what they prefer.
