Does Montreal extends the validity of NOA2 (I 129F) automatically?

Hey guys, I'm sure quite a few of you are also in the same situation, I'm waiting for a interview date to open up at the Montreal Consulate, I've been trying for close to 7 weeks now but haven't been able to find one yet! My NOA2 (I 129 F) which was approved by USCIS has an expiration date of Oct 6th, so chances are it's going to expire prior to the interview. So should I contact Montreal and ask them to extend the validity of this document, or are they going to do that automatically if the case is still pending at their end. I've read some conflicting answers on VJ, some people are suggesting that it depends on the country where the US embassy is located, so I'm interested in finding out about Montreal specifically. Thanks

Mine expired in August. I called USCIS and they told me that Montreal can extend it for us. That it should not be a problem. If you find out anything else or hear differently, please let me know.
