Greetings my fellow VJers,

I got the best birthday present ever on September 15th, 2011 when my I-130 petition was approved by the USCIS. The e-mail actualy arrived at 12:15 AM eastern time on the 16th that we were approved.

Now I'm interested in the current time frame that people are experiencing getting their case number from the NVC and the rest of the other steps involved. I have read so much info here and elswhere my head is swimming...

We will probably use the shortcuts, but also snail mail.

it took a month just to have a case no. but i tell you after you get case no. everything is so fast so you have to be proactive while waiting for case no. complete all the doc's you need for ds230..and fill out ds230 so you can practice its kinda stressing lol...well god bless to your nvc journey and the rest of your journey..:)

Once you call and are able to find out your case number (whether just by listening to the Automated Voice Recorder (AVR) or by calling the operators), call the operator and ask for your Invoice Identification Number (IIN), which will allow you to sign onto the payment portal. You should also give your and your spouse's email addresses to the operator in order to start receiving correspondence from the NVC via email. Once you get the email from NVC with the DS3032 attached, then send the form (or the email template found in the shortcuts) from your spouse's email.

*rereads what she wrote* Meh, that's probably clear as mud. :P

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.
