starting I-130 process

Hello fellow Vjers,

New to this forum, wanting to say hello to everyone as we plan to file or I-130 petition in october 2011.

So far, this is what I have gained from reading James' shortcut and Lingche;s shortcuts please correct me if I have understood it wrong.

First step, gather all the documents for me and beneficiary at this time, get the ones that signing from beneficiary out of the way also.

Next send documents to Chicago lockbox (although i am not sure if we are still sending to VSC or if lockbox is the new thing)

await NOA1, then NOA2- I assume this is the time it is sent to NVC and we e-mail DS3032, await IV bill and AOS bill

so far that is my understanding, but i am open to any more suggestions and how we can get thru this process fast.

NOA 2- Dated April 27 2010 (85days after NOA1)

Interview-October 2010- outcome AP

Interview-July 2011-outcome-Recommendation for revocation

March 2012- Petition received by a USCIS office

May 11 2012- Petiton sent to another USCIS office for processing

May 15 2012- Petition is now being processed at a USCIS office

May 17 2012- letter rec'd from CSC Petition officially closed

Oct 26, 2011- Sent 1-130 Oct 27, 2011- NOA1 priority date

July 2012- NOID I-130 petition

July 16, 2012 e-mail notification for NOA2

NVC Process

July 23, 2012- nvc received

Aug 13,2012- called nvc to receive case# and IIN

Aug 14,2012- DS-3032 Email sent

Aug 15,2012- AOS Fee $88 invoiced, paid and in process

Aug 16,2012- AOS shows as paid

Aug 17,2012- I-864 overnighted to NVC

Aug 24,2012- DS-3032 acceptance received

Aug 24,2012- DS-230 invoiced/paid

Sept 4,2012- DS-230 overnighted to NVC (forgot to date page 2 waoo???, can't stop beating myself now, pls no RFE)

Sept 5,2012- DS-230 received by NVC; Oct 4- date received via email for scheduled interview

Sept 14, 2012-checklist requested for docs already submitted

Sept 20,2012- Case complete at NVC

November 2, 2012 Interview -APPROVED

Firstly, welcome, and good luck on your journey

Secondly, I suggest you read the CR-1 guides here on VJ , BEFORE you start reading for the next step.

Take all 1 step at a time. The short cuts you read are for NVC, and you will have plenty of time preparing for NVC while waiting for NOA 2.

Thirdly , there is not short cut for a fast processing, just stay patient, and stay focus. At times this process can be trying on the nerves,and hard on a couple, being apart is hard enough, and this process dont make it easier. Start reading here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

Sent I-130 petition Sept. 27th, 2011 for CR-1 Visa.

Make sure your trays and seat backs are in their up-right positions, its going to be a hell of a ride on USCIS Airways.

Do not rush, read and prepare yourself very well prior to filing. Ask and we will direct you if we could. Remember you are dealing with one of the hardest embassy's. Being informed and prepared will increase your chances of getting through this with approval. Do not rush, read and prepare yourself very well prior to filing. Ask and we will direct you if we could. Remember you are dealing with one of the hardest embassy's. Thanks for your advice. We are counting down to filling in a few weeks.

I will keep in touch and keep you all posted especially those that have gone through Lagos.
