Hello,

I am currently on F-1 visa. I married a U.S. citizen and we are now going through the green card process. We are filling out all the forms at one time. I know I can hand in the I-131 with the I-485 and I assume I'm supposed to check the advance parole box in form I-131. Is that correct?

If I check advance parole, I am confused about how to fill out Part 7. Specifically I'm confused about what to put on a separate sheet of paper as per the instructions on the form.

Any other help on how to fill out that section of the form will be great!

Yes, you check the Advance Parole box. I attached a separate sheet with the form basically just stating that during the period when my AOS is pending, I would like to have the possibility of traveling abroad to visit my family over the summer, and due to this I am applying for a multiple entry AP. However, APs are routinely approved so I'm not sure if you even really need to attach that explanation. You can just write something very generic and roundabout - you don't need to have any specific trips or special circumstances to warrant the issuance of the AP.

03/04/2011 - Day 1 - AOS -package signed for at USCIS

03/09/2011 - Day 6 - E-mail notification received for all petitions

03/10/2011 - Day 7 - Checks cashed

03/11/2011 - Day 8 - NOA 1 received for all 4 forms

03/21/2011 - Day 18 - Biometrics letter received, biometrics scheduled for 04/14/2011

03/31/2011 - Day 28 - Successful walk-in biometrics done

05/12/2011 - Day 70 - EAD Arrived, issued on 05/02

06/14/2011 - Day 103 - E-mail notice: Interview letter mailed, interview scheduled for July 20th

07/20/2011 - Day 139 - Interview at Federal Plaza USCIS location

07/22/2011 - Day 141 - E-mail approval notice received (Card production)

07/27/2011 - Day 146 - 2nd Card Production Email received

07/28/2011 - Day 147 - Post-Decision Activity Email from USCIS

08/04/2011 - Day 154 - Husband returns home from abroad; Welcome Letter and GC have arrived in the mail

("Resident since" date on the GC is 07/20/2011
