hi everyone, i need your help. My fiance who's in edinburg TX doesn't know where to get his single status affidavit. i need it for my Prism/CFO seminar here in the philippines. Do u have any idea where he could get it and how much will it cost? thank u so much = )

We do not have those type of papers. BUT if he comes armed with his most recent income tax transcripts it shows your "status", be it Married, Single etc.

If he was married before he will want to bring a copy of his divorce decree.

There is no such thing here. The suggestion to use the tax return and divorce papers if any is a good one.

As mentioned, the U.S. does not issue a "cenomar". The only reason the U.S. Embassy issues an affidavit to contract marriage is because the Philippine Govt requires it for a foreigner to marry a Phil National IN THE PHILIPPINES.

Since the us DOESN'T HAVE THOSE. YOU CAN GO TO THE NSO AND APPLY FOR CENOMAR IN YOUR BOYFRIENDS NAME.. THAT WILL SHOW HE IS SINGLE AND THAT THERE IS NO MARRIAGE ON RECORD IN THE PHILIPPINES...THEY SHOULD ACCEPT THAT AS PROOF THAT HE IS SINGLE SINCE THE U.S DOESN'T HAVE ANYWAY TO SHOW HE IS SINGLE HERE IN THE STATES.
