Apologies for asking lots of questions today. There are a couple of things I am unsure about when applying for the K-1 visa:

1) Do you need to fill out a DS-158? It's on the visajourney example documents, but not on the list of required documents on the London Embassy information webpage for K visa applicants.

2) Do we need to fill out the DS-160? I read somewhere it replaces some forms including the DS-158.

3) For the I-134 Affidavit of Support. My fiancee (petitioner) is a student and so barely meets the poverty line. She has some savings however. Does anyone know just how strict the consular officers are when it comes to supporting evidence? I just don't know what to expect.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No and No. Just follow these London Instructions http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Not too strict in London. Bring two proofs of income and a bank statement or whatever shows the savings if she will list her assets.

Income: Employer letter, tax transcript, pay slips are good to choose from.

If you're fiance can not meet the poverty line minimum he.she will need co-sponser unless he/she has boucoupe money save in the bank. ( to the guy above do you really think the embassy is going to approve a visa for some one who does not meet the MINIMUM requirements and risk the chance the immigrating fiance will become a public charge? :bonk: )

Not a guy, but it was stated that the USC barely meets the mininmum plus has savings. That means she does NOT fall short on salary and has some savings to show too. I actually didn't say the embassy would approve, but that LONDON is not terribly strict. Approval is subjective and will be up to the officer. They have approved someone this year not even having the minumum and said they didn't want the co-sponsor forms. The beneficiary even said "but she doesn't make enough" and the officer said "it's fine".
