I-864 tax transcripts too vague?

Hi,

My wife and I filed jointly for 2008, 2009. She is the petitioner on an I-864 and we are figuring only her adjusted gross income for part 6, #25. We were also going to send tax transcripts for those years.

Since the tax transcripts don't show her separate, adjusted gross income, are we required to send in the tax returns and W-2's so that they can use those to confirm our calculations?

I mean they give you the choice but in this case are the tax transcripts not sufficient?

If you filed jointly then she doesn't have a "separate adjusted gross income". One "adjusted gross income" is calculated based on your combined income.

However, you can submit the transcripts along with W2's to show which portion of the combined income was hers.
