This is regaurding info to disclose at my medical which is Friday. A few months after my fiance and I met I found out I had a STD, we were both treated and since we are only with eachother, there has been no new occurance, nor will there ever be. The question is wether or not to disclose this info at the medical. It was not a serious condition or threat to public health.I have called my doctor and the hospital where the treatment was recieved. They are saying we can get documentation to prove it was treated and cleared, but because the condition is so easily aquired after it is treated (if you are with a new partner), it does not matter anyways. They have also said there is no way that the officals would be able to access the records regaurding this matter. So how would they know if we did not say? We jsut dont want to delay anything because there is no curent condition or problem. But we dont want to get caught in a lie either. Comments?

I say disclose it and the evidence of its treatment to be on the safe side. Most STDs are significant to the US government in terms of visa issuance, so I would say err on the side of truth. You'd be surprised what the US government does consider to be a risk to public health. You haven't specified which STD it was, but rest assured it's probably on their list anyway!

And your NHS doctor may THINK they can't access your medical records, but they can if you sign a release which they may ask you to do anyway if they have questions...or else no visa. I think not disclosing it (if they ask you about it) may technically constitute fraud and could cause enormous problems for you later down the line all for the sake of saving a small amount of time now. I don't think disclosing a treated STD will stand in your way; check up online about that.
