i have a question about the Affidavit in Lieu of a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry in the philippines. what happens if you and your spouse both obtain the required documents(CENOMAR and Affidavit in Lieu...) and now you're both ready to get married but at the last minute you back out...what happens to the above documents? and say you find someone else that you want to marry there in the philippines but instead want to do a fiancee visa? any information would be very helpful and links would be a big help too, thanks!

hi.. as far as i know your Certificate of legal capacity to marry will not have any validity till you wed your supposed fiancee.. You might as well send an email to embassy for some ways to revoke the issued cert.... you came to Philippines for her but of course there are events that are inevitable.. take time to reconsider and take time to know the person you are interested now to marry... try not to hurt the other woman if shes been good to you.. anyway best of luck..

Nothing happens. I got one and then we decided to go the K1 route. I still have the legal capacity from the US Embassy document in a frame for nostalgia.

You use it or you don't, the Embassy doesn't care.
