Ziggy's wife,

I will call NVC now and find what the RFE was for and try to prepare it and send it in asap. That will lessen the time and hopefully when your case might be closed again. Something on the tax form was probably filled incorrectly.

Peace and blessings. I hope this gets resolved real soon for you.

The case might be closed but they still want the updated documents to be shown at the interview or they will not grant a visa until the correct paperwork is submitted.

The same thing has happened to us. My husband's case was completed in September 2010. We had one error on the I-864 form, but the NVC told us to just complete a new form and take it to our interview at the embassy when the time came. So, we have waited for 11 months now thinking that our case has been completed. However, on the 10th of August, we received a letter stating that we had to correct this error and send it to the NVC. We were really confused because we already knew about this last September. We called them and they explained to us that the embassy is trying to streamline everything and all paperwork correctons, documents, etc. must be submitted to the NVC before the embassy will schedule an appointment now. We were obviously fine with this news, but then I asked about our case being completed. They told us once we got this form corrected and they reviewed it, then our case would be complete. So basically we have been pulled out of our position in line! We've been waiting for 11 months for an interview and then they surprise us with this bomb. I think most people here know on VisaJourney that the average wait time for an interview in Accra (after your case is complete at the NVC) is 12-18 months. I'm afraid we might have to wait almost another whole year now. I did talk to a really nice supervisor at the NVC and she said this new policy is supposed to make everything go a lot faster and smoother at the embassy in Accra. I just pray she is right. This has been hell for all of us just waiting to be reunited with our families.
