I sent an email to the Immigrant Visa Section of the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines. I requested a follow up on the I-130 petition I filed for my wife in at the US Embassy in Manila. I just received an email from them stating that our petition was approved on August 4. But my wife who is in the Philippines now has not received any letter yet.

How long does it usually take before she gets the letter from the time the petition was approved?

Also what does the approval letter consist of?

We did not receive an approval letter. We received a Packet III by mail and it was received (2) weeks after it was dated. We did not return the Packet III until we got all of our documents together (the longest was the police certificate) and after we mailed in the Packet III it took about 5-6 weeks to get a Packet IV with interview date.

i don't get it.
