We received our P4 in the mail yesterday and it says "interview date" Aug 24th, 12:30pm.

However, it doesnt say anything about a "document turn in/finger print day or time". Where do I get this?

Were fingerprints done earlier in the process? Did you send in enough paperwork that you don't need a separate date to turn it in?

If all else fails, take all your papers with you to the interview. If you're not sure, take *two* copies of everything or at least a copy of your originals. That'll make it easier on your IO, and easier is good when it comes time to make a decision.

Care,

Bill

Matt,

The Guangzhou consulate does it differently than the other consulates or embassy. The date and time on your P4 is actually for the document in-take

My fiancee told me she had a piece of paper telling her to go back the next day at 7:30am for her interview.

So please prepare your fiancee to spend some time in Guangzhou: enough time for medical, time for the consulate, and time to wait for her visa after her interview.

Good luck!! :)

Yep yep yep. Guangzhou is a two day process now. From 7:30 to 12:00 are interviews and 12:30 to 3:00 or something is for document intake. When she does the document turn in, she will be told when to come back the next day but for 12:30 appointments it is 7:30 the next day. Just make sure to keep the appointment letter with her number on it. People start queuing up more than 30 minutes early so if she is the impatient type (like me) she'll want to be there at noon. If she is more the I'll get there right at the stroke of 12:30 type (like my wife) then no worries. They start letting people in at 12:25 or so, but it takes a while to process everyone.

Awesome. I'm assuming you already have your hotel set up. If not, avoid the Jinli Harmony Hotel. It's nice and in a good location, but they screwed us for RMB100 for a pillow of all things. As if it was obvious from our luggage that we didn't steal one of their pillows :bonk:

When your wife gets her salmon colored pink slip, the next fun challenge is finding the post office to pick it up. Kindo of a challange as the post office isn't actually on the street the address says, but down what looks like an alley. We ended up circling the whole 2 or 3 mile block trying to find it
